Executive producer of Doctor Who and Sherlock Steven Moffat, this week expressed his thoughts on the possibility of producing a Sherlock and Doctor Who crossover.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Moffat stated:
‘if people want to, we should give it to them’.
In the past, Moffat has made his dislike for the crossover quite clear, believing that it would not clash well. However, he believes to think differently now. Moffat continued,
“I got persuaded by Mark [Gatiss], Benedict [Cumberbatch], [executive producer Sue Vertue] and Martin [Freeman] saying, ‘Look, it will never be as good as they think it’s going to be’”.
What do you Doctor Who or Sherlock fans think of this? Would it be an awesome thing where the Doctor travels to the world of Sherlock? Or is it perhaps better left to fan fiction? Let me know in the comments!
I was shocked to discover that the movie adaptation of Paper Towns (releasing in June) will not be featuring the SeaWorld trip shared between Quentin and Margo. As this is one of my favorite scenes from the book, I’m really quite disappointed and upset that they’re not keeping the scene! I feel like it really provides a foundation for Margo’s character, and the story itself.
This was explained by the melty.com article:
Published towards the end of 2008, the novel debuted some time before 2013’s Blackfish created a storm of controversy surrounding the treatment of the orcas in captivity. The documentary revealed what went on behind the scenes at the Florida park, before recounting the incident that led to the death of trainer Dawn Brancheau following a show with orca Tilikum. Speaking about the decision to cut the scene, producer Wyck Godfrey announced:”Since John wrote the book, the documentary [Blackfish] came out. I think it’s a little less playful to go to SeaWorld now.”
Hmm. What are your thoughts?

The Sherlock cast was spotted filming at the Coston Hall in Bristol, England, for the one-episode special expected to air on Christmas, 2015. (FINALLY!)
Mark Gatiss commented:
“It’s not a Christmas special. It’s a special, but we honestly have no idea when it might be on. We’re making it in January but we don’t know when it’s going to be on. Christmas would be nice.
Additionally, BBC released a short trailer featuring glimpses of Sherlock as well as other shows.(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OP1ZaXgqL94)
The premier of Sherlock Season 4 was generally expected to release in early 2016, however many are now speculating that it is quite possible that it could air in 2017. (Haha fun; another 2-year wait)
However, from what Benedict Cumberbatch has recently said, it appears I could be watching Sherlock for many years to come.
“If we can keep the quality up,” Cumberbatch said in a Vogue Magazine interview, “I can’t imagine that I will ever get tired of being Sherlock. I’d love to play him as an old man.”
The Insurgent trailer just dropped the other day! How are we feeling about it? There have been a lot of mixed reviews going around, and personally, while I think the movie looks amazing and lots of fun, I’m not sure how true to the book it will be. But hey, that’s not always a bad thing 🙂
I’ve listed the trailer below for those of you who haven’t seen it, and hopefully I will have a discussion video up on my Youtube channel soon!
About a week ago, John Green and the Paper Towns movie crew arrived in North Carolina (USA) to begin filming. Filming is expected to wrap up in December, with the movie hitting theaters in June 2015.
Gah, this is all happening so quickly! I feel like it was just yesterday when we got The Fault in Our Stars movie, and just one year later from that, we’ll be getting the Paper Towns movie! I wonder if a year after that, we’ll get the Looking for Alaska movie.
I’m not too hyped for Paper Towns, didn’t enjoy it that much, but I will definitely go see it! I can’t wait till we get LFA news…now that is a movie I’m looking forward to!
This is a little late, but I have decided to screenshot IMDb and discuss the Paper Towns cast a little bit.
How are we feeling about Cara Delevingne as Margo? Honestly, she is not how I pictured her at all and I know that she is also not quite what a lot of other fans believed her to look like. Apparently though, as John Green said recently, Cara is exactly how he pictured Margo. Interesting.
And how do we feel about Nat Wolff as Quentin? I can sort of picture Nat as the character, but I definitely do not see him as Quentin. Can’t he just stay Isaac from TFIOS? Nat will definitely do his role justice with his incredible acting skills, but I still don’t know how I feel about him as Quentin
